Our preschool
Why choose our public preschool?
Our public preschool is a fee-free preschool at Arncliffe West Infants School. It’s an easy choice for local families with young children.
We give every child the start in early childhood education. At our preschool, children explore, ask questions and grow in a safe and caring place. Our friendly team helps each child learn and feel good through fun, hands-on play that builds confidence and curiosity.
We look forward to welcoming you and your child to our preschool. Contact us to talk to our team, book a tour or join our waitlist.

Fees
There are no daily attendance fees required to attend our preschool. NSW public preschools receive funding from the NSW government.
Upon enrolment, families are required to purchase a t-shirt and hat for their child to use at preschool. These items are purchased from the front office.
Attendance
Public preschools enrol children for one year only, the year before they start school.
Children can enrol from the beginning of the school year if they turn 4 years of age before 31 July that year.
Meals
Children bring their own meals and snacks to preschool. For more information, please contact us.
How to enrol
Unlike NSW public schools, there are no intake areas for public preschools. Enrolment is on application only.
Enrolment for the current year
Contact us or come to the school office to collect an Expression of Interest form for the current year. Your child will be added to the wait list. Once a place becomes available for your child, the office will contact you to complete the enrolment process.
Enrolment for the next preschool year
Contact us or visit the school office to collect an Expression of Interest form. Forms become available for collection from February of the year prior to the upcoming preschool year.
The preschool enrolment panel meets early in Term 3 to offer places to accepted families. Enrolment forms must be completed along with your acceptance letter. Please note that not all children are guaranteed a place; those who are not offered a spot will be added to our waitlist.
Enrolment priority
Enrolment priority is given to:
- Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander children
- children living in low socio-economic circumstances
- children who are unable to access other early childhood settings due to financial hardship.
The principal of the school will then offer enrolment in the following order:
- children living within the school's catchment area
- children living outside the catchment area but who have siblings at the school
- other applicants.
Immunisation
Preschools cannot enrol a child unless their family provides an Immunisation History Statement form that shows their child:
- is fully immunised for their age, or;
- has a medical reason not to be vaccinated, or;
- is on a recognised catch-up schedule.
